Customer product helps people to travel more easily by letting them know about the needed travel documentation and providing them with up-to-date travel requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to our backend infrastructure. You will take co-ownership of our backend infrastructure, which hosts our authentication flow, payment systems, AI logic, feature management and data processing

  • Design and build. You will have a key voice in how we architect and integrate our solutions

  • Improve performance and care about quality. We dogfood our own solutions. You focus on shipping software that matters to your users and that matter to the company youʼre building for

  • Wear many hats. In a small startup, weʼre all generalists. You might work with our finance team on partner commission dashboards and create custom reports from BigQuery or set up an internal API endpoint and dive into setting up a load balancer in GCP using Terraform

Job requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with exposure to API design and backend development

  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining APIs in production environments, with an understanding of API lifecycle fundamentals

  • Strong understanding of how the web works

  • Practical debugging skills. You can trace issues through logs, reproduce problems consistently, and understand what's happening in production systems

  • You've built web scrapers or extensively worked with e2e tests

  • Thrive in a free-floating collaborative environment with other teams to identify high-impact ways of solving problems quickly

  • Excellent oral and written communication

  • Upper-intermediate level of English

  • Working hours in the Toronto timezone
